Chatham Lab-Grown
Yellow Sapphires

Chatham makes the beauty of yellow sapphire much more available with lab-grown yellow sapphires that has the sought-after color of the very best of mined gems. Growing yellow sapphire crystals takes about six months. We start with a seed of fine Sri Lankan yellow sapphire. We create the perfect environment so the yellow crystals grow large and clean. When we cut the crystals, we cut away about 80% of the rough to give you faceted yellow sapphires with a bright yellow color, exceptional clarity, and sparkling brilliance.

We cut our yellow sapphires in a wide variety of shapes that are almost impossible to find in mined sapphires. And because they are created in our labs, they have less of an impact on the environment than gems that are mined. We think the exceptional quality and beauty of our lab-grown yellow sapphires make them a better choice than mined sapphires. But visit a Chatham retailer and compare the two side-by-side and decide for yourself.

Chatham lab-grown yellow sapphires are only available as loose gems through Chatham retailers. Find a retailer near you.

About Yellow Sapphires

The warm glow of gold meets the brilliance of sapphire. Did you know the world’s favorite blue gemstone comes in yellow too? A lovely alternative to pricey canary diamonds in engagement rings, yellow sapphire is becoming more popular today as more women discover its golden shades.

Sapphires are the gems of fidelity, honesty, and truth. Yellow sapphire is a symbol of optimism and confidence.

Sapphire is defined as all gem colors of the mineral corundum except red, which is ruby. Fancy yellow sapphires are often found in the same areas as blue sapphires. Yellow sapphire is often confused for fancy yellow diamond.

Sapphire is most common in oval and cushion shapes. Other shapes may be difficult to find in sizes above a carat. They are durable and easy to care for with a hardness second to only diamond.
